If you’re tired of saying “I know, I know” without feeling any different, this is where that changes.

A woman with long black hair, smiling, wearing a red long-sleeve dress, stands in front of a bookshelf filled with books in a library setting.

I’m Dr. Melissa Chipollini. Since 2016, I’ve worked in hospitals, community mental health, and even correctional settings. Those experiences taught me this: insight is powerful, but insight alone doesn’t create change.

I’ll meet you with empathy and curiosity, and I’ll also challenge you when it matters. Sometimes that means naming the pattern you’ve been avoiding. The goal of therapy isn’t just to feel heard, it’s also to feel stronger, steadier, and safe enough to grow.

Who I work with
I offer in online therapy for adults who live in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Most of my clients are in their 20s–40s, navigating stress, relationships, and the gap between what they know and what they actually do.

My Clinical Foundation

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the backbone

  • Attachment-based approaches for deeper insight and relationship stability

  • DBT-informed skills for emotional regulation and behavioral control

  • Background in personality testing, impulse control, and addictions (including internet and pornography)

  • Expertise in law enforcement and public safety evaluations

What you can expect with me
Our work won’t be about “just getting by.” My goal is to help you move from barely treading water to casually swimming; steady, confident, and equipped to handle whatever life throws your way.

Outside the Therapy Room

Beyond individual therapy, I provide:

  • Supervision: Clinical supervision for LPC candidates in Pennsylvania

  • Consulting & Training: Workshops and talks on behavior change, accountability, and emotional regulation

  • Specialized Evaluations: Experience in law enforcement assessments, personality testing, and high-stakes evaluations where reliability and discretion matter

  • Speaking & Media: Guest on podcasts (like Dishing with Patricia) and panels exploring therapy, burnout (like this stress management event with Orange Theory), and the role of “care-frontation” in growth
